Dr. Aalai , EMG , NCS , BMAC , PRP

Dr. Aalai is a highly trained interventional pain physician who has been working in the New York area for over a decade. He performed his undergraduate training at Virginia Commonwealth University where he majored in Biomedical Engineering, this provided him a unique insight into the mechanics of the body including sports related injuries. After this he attended Howard University School of Medicine where he completed his MD while gaining invaluable experience working with the less fortunate and uninsured patients in the densely populated urban environment of Washington DC.

During his first year of residency, he elected to train in the field of general surgery at a busy hospital to gain experience in anatomy and to develop impeccable procedural skills. This training proved to be a valuable asset to him providing extensive exposure to interventional techniques.

Through the culmination of these skills Dr. Aalai went on to complete a fellowship in interventional pain medicine and has been working in private practice in the New York area for many years. Currently Dr. Aalai serves as the Program Director at One Brooklyn Health hospital (OBH) in the department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). This is where he trained as a resident, and he hopes to help guide future physicians to provide excellent medical care to their patients while servicing the less fortunate.

Dr. Aalai has extensive experience in the field of Musculoskeletal medicine. This includes interventional spine techniques as well as treatment of pathology involving the peripheral joints and nervous system. His engineering background provides proficiency in procedures like Electromyography (EMG) & Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), this helps him diagnose and treat complicated pain syndromes with more accuracy.

Dr. Aalai also has an interest in Regenerative Medicine, being one of the first physicians in New York to perform intradiscal stem cell therapy for patients, providing him with extensive experience in this field of medicine. He is well versed on Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) and other cutting-edge therapy that can be used to avoid surgery and help keep patients living active and healthy for many years.
